Mildred E. Buckley, 85, of Decatur passed away Tuesday September 14, 2010 at Heartland Nursing Center in Decatur.

A celebration of Mildred’s life will be 1:00 PM Thursday September 16, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood St. Funeral Home with visitation one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.dawson-wikoff.com

Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Shiner’s Children’s Hospital.

Mildred was born on March 14, 1925 in Decatur the daughter of John and Anna Victoria Novak Brown. She married John R. Buckley on September 15, 1945 and John preceded her on September 2, 1979.  Mildred was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, friendship circle and the Ladies Moose; she was a volunteer at Fair Havens Long Term Care and a member of the Ansaretts. She retired from Tolly’s Supermarket after 17 years of service.

Mildred is survived by her two daughters: Sharon Buckley-Grace and husband Larry of Decatur and Patricia Bacon and husband Ronald of Decatur; nephews Jerry Boehm and wife Charli of Bloomfield, IN and Mark Brown and wife Guen of Aurora, CO.; nieces Victoria Smith and husband Gary of Powell, TN and Rebecca Daily and husband Mark of Shalimar, FL.; great nieces Kelly Leikams and husband Mark of Parker, CO. and Kathy Glenn and husband Bill of Centennial, CO.; great great nephews Benjamin Leikams and Adam Glenn; loving friend Becky Spencer of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
